The Strong Towns Richmond Hill Community Garden is a volunteer-led garden located at Cordave Parkette, bringing neighbours together to grow food, care for a shared public space, and create another reason for people to connect in their community.
Each growing season, volunteers help prepare the garden bed, plant crops, maintain the space, and share in watching the garden develop throughout the year. The garden is open for the community to enjoy, whether you’re helping out, stopping by during a walk through the park, or simply curious to see what’s growing.
A Garden for the Community
Our first planting day of the 2026 season brought volunteers together for a sunny afternoon of preparing the garden bed, planting early crops, and refreshing the space for the months ahead.
One of our favourite moments came from a local neighbour who stopped to tell us how much their young child looks forward to visiting the garden whenever they come to the park. They were excited to see what would be growing this year.
Those small interactions are a big part of why the garden exists. Beyond what we grow, the garden provides a place for curiosity, conversation, and connection between neighbours of all ages.
